In my last newsletter I talked about how all hell broke loose in my life. After I’d picked myself up and focused on what I truly wanted, I decided to take a break from blogging to focus on my upcoming online Accessing Alignment course. But something so momentous happened recently that I had to take a moment to write to you.
Last Sunday night I was Googling someone and then, on a whim, decided to Google myself.
Can you imagine my surprise when I discovered that I’ve been published in the Huffington Post?!!
I heard an interview with Arianna Huffington last year, and she gave her personal email and encouraged listeners to email her articles that redefine what success is.
In a ballsy move, I submitted an article to her. She replied within a day saying that she loved it and was forwarding it to her editor to be published. I was over the moon!
Then… crickets.
I contacted the editor once, but never heard back so I decided to let it go and submit something later.
But it turns out they published it last July! What, what? I couldn’t believe my eyes!
So here is my first moral of the story: Drop what you’re doing and Google yourself!
You never know what you’ll discover. And don’t forget to set up a Google alert for your name (or the name of your business) while you’re at it.
Moreover, the timing of this discovery was particularly meaningful to me because just last week I told my accountability group that I plan to submit articles to big publications when I launch my the course.
The Huffington Post was high up on that list.
Now I’ll admit, I thought it might be challenging to get my work published in the HuffPo. I felt a bit rejected by the editor who never replied to my email and I was a bit nervous about submitting my work again.
The irony that I had this desire to be a writer for the HuffPo when I already was one just floors me!
Here is the second take-away: Whatever you think you want to be, you already are.
Because all of it is now. I work at Citigroup (past), I am happily married (present), I am a creator of a lucrative online course (future), I am on Oprah (future) and I am ridiculously awesome (always!) – all of these are statements have been or will be flying out of my mouth at some point in my life.
Why not own all of me NOW?
I practice all the visioning techniques that I share with you in this blog. I’ve imagined and visualized this moment of being published in a huge online publication. I’ve spoken and MasterMinded about it, I’ve written it out as an ideal life script… and now I am living it!
But that was only the beginning of good news!
I was about to sign off for the weekend last Friday when I got a ping saying that I’ve been published in the HuffPo again!
To explain how I manifested getting published again just a few days later, I first have to share with you how big I am on celebrating my accomplishments.
You see, I spent far too many years of my early life moving right on after achieving something. I didn’t know hot to bask in my wins.
When I finally stepped into my alignment, I vowed to celebrate everything good, big or small, to the max!
So right after I learned about being a HuffPo author I gushed all over social media, called every close friend and screamed their ear off, danced, went out and bought some new jewelry to celebrate, you name it!
And did I mention that it was midnight when I made the Googlicious discovery? Even though my husband and I were in our pajamas, I didn’t hesitate for a moment – I broke out the champagne and we toasted to this success!
Which brings me to the third moral: Always keep some bubbly in the fridge, showing yourself and the universe that you are ready to celebrate ANY TIME!
It turns out that my friend, Lloyd Burnett, was so inspired by my celebrations on Facebook that he decided to email HuffPo about his new amazing project called Nudges from your Higher Self.
And lo and behold, Arianna Huffington loved his idea of inspiring love notes directed at entrepreneurs so much that she offered him a regular blogging spot at HuffPo.
On Friday his first article went live and he featured a quote form yours-truly in the p.s. section! It’s a fabulous article about why there are no mistakes, ever, and I am honored to be included!
Which brings me to the fourth, and maybe the most important, take-away: Whatever happens to you, celebrate it. Bask in the gifts and delightful surprises!
Find the silver lining in things that seem like the opposite of what you wanted.
Instead of lamenting the fact that I should have known earlier that I was published in HuffPo, when I found out about my article, I celebrated like it was my last day being alive!
And that positive energy attracted more of what I desire to me. Effortlessly!
When you color what is happening as positive and then amplify that energy to the max, all of life will bend over backwards to prove you right and bring you more.
So now I am facing an interesting opportunity: finding new ways to celebrate!
I’ve pretty much covered all the ones that I could easily think of… won’t you help me out? Tell me your favorite ways to celebrate in the comments below!
And I’d love to hear if anything like this has ever happened to you, because I love celebrating others’ successes as much as my own!
Grateful,
P.S. I talked earlier about the visioning techniques I use, and now is a great time to catch up on my series of visioning posts because:
a) If you really want to manifest your dreams, you’ve got to focus on them daily
b) I suggest exercises that make it FUN!
Read the series here:

WOW! Lana, you never cease to amaze me with how you are able to visualize something and then it comes to pass. I LOVE how you celebrate all the wins. That is something I definitely should be doing myself. It is so easy to let them pass by and have them fade from memory. Equally it is so easy to get caught up in a specific goal and how it has to take that form that you can’t see (or celebrate) when unexpected blessings come your way in other shapes or forms. Thank you for the reminder! AND YAY!!!! Huffington Post x2, rock on lady!
Jessica, I have experienced so many successes that I didn’t enjoy the journey to or didn’t even take a moment to celebrate. That’s when I realized that wins feel empty to me if I don’t have the presence and joy all along the way! Thank you for celebrating with me!!
How cool that something you were dreaming of had already happened! I love it. And I love how you celebrate each and every achievement in your life. Gratitude is a powerful force and you are walking proof of that.
To add to your list of celebrations, I’d book a massage or spa day and really get pampered.
RIDICULOUSLY cool, Lily! And gratitude is the most powerful energy ever. I get massages all the time, but don’t usually do spa days – that is a great idea, thank you!!!
Love this! Just what I needed. Thanks for sharing Lana. I usually am quite intolerant for this kinda stuff but you get me in your wavelength and I like it.
I LOVE comments like that Natcha! I’m all about practical and grounded ways to live a life of ease, joy, appreciation and love. Glad that you are in my wavelength (and I’m in yours)!
Congrats, Mama! This is so inspiring. I wrote down: “Whatever you think you want to be, you already are.” Yum!
So glad that line, and the blog post, resonated with you Fesche! You just inspired me to write it down on a post-it and pin it on my desk. Because we all need reminders once in a while. 🙂
Kudos to you, Lana!! I’m super happy for you.
I’m a runner and am big on celebrating races and long mileage. However, I’m not so good at celebrating business wins. I generally get excited for a bit then get back to working on the next thing. I guess I feel like I’ll celebrate later with the larger wins.
You’ve definitely changed my perspective on that. Celebrating both the tiny and large accomplishments really helps focus your energy. My head is already spinning with ideas on how to celebrate the next one! 🙂
Jennifer, I love how you made the connection that you can be applying what you already know works super well for you in one area of your life (running) to another area (business). Can’t wait to hear how you celebrate (and I hope I’m invited to join the party)!!
Such a brilliant post Lana. I love the part about “whatever you think you want to be, you already are.” I needed to hear that and that mindset is one that will stay with me forever.
Congrats on getting in the Huffington Post twice! That’s one of my aspirations too 🙂
That is fantastic! Congratulations! Thanks for sharing your insights, as well!
Thank you for much for the love, Tiffany! Blessings to you!!
Hi Lana, I LOVE this post.
You’re so right, and I have the habit of moving forward without really stopping to celebrate, because I am too focused on my (imaginary?) end goal.
Starting today I will celebrate a lot more.
Thanks for this beautiful post (and congrats for HuffPost).
Anne
And I’ll be celebrating the fact that you are celebrating yourself and your life more now because of this post, Anne! Thank you!!
This is so, so cool. I just had my first major “success” with my blog – almost 60 shares on Facebook and just under 4500 views in 36 hours! (-: I’m so excited and am trying to figure out where I go from here – submit it someplace else? Just keep writing in my own space? I’m not even sure if sites like the Huffington Post consider publishing pieces that have already appeared on blogger’s personal blogs…looks like I have a lot to learn. But thanks a million for the inspiration.
WOOO HOOOO, that’s an awesome success, congratulations Em!!! Yes, for sure you should submit it to places that don’t require original content (like the Huffington Post or Elephant Journal). And keep writing, you are clearly really resonating with so many!
Oh my gosh, I just loved this article!!! How awesome to find out you were already published. I too have “get published on HuffPo” on my vision board and the champs is in the fridge ready. Congratulations again, such an inspiration. I’m now reading through your Visioning Series. Xoxo, Tiffany
I see you getting published in HuffPo and so many other places, Tiffany!! And the visioning series will help you manifest that sooner and with more ease! 😉
Hi Lana
I love your article. Thanks for writing it. Last night my husband promised me a week-end away if I got published. I got published this morning. WOOOO! Thanks for sharing your story.
Congratulations Krista! How exciting!! Happy celebrating!!!
